The 2021 BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition is a highly exclusive, limited-production version of the X7 M50i, distinguished by its unique Frozen Arctic Grey metallic paint finish and all-black exterior details. Only 750 units were available worldwide, with approximately 75 reserved for the U.S. market.

• Exterior: Features a unique Frozen Arctic Grey metallic paint, a matte-like paint, which was the first time this color was available on the X7.
• Trim: The vehicle includes extensive Extended Shadowline trim in high-gloss black on the kidney grille, roof rails, air breathers, and tailpipe finishers.
• Wheels: It rides on 22-inch M V-spoke light-alloy wheels in a bicolor, matte Jet Black finish.
• Glass: The rear windows are tinted, and the BMW Laserlight system also has a darker tint.
• Badging: Features special Dark Shadow Edition badging.

The interior is equally luxurious and includes bespoke BMW Individual materials and finishes.

• Upholstery: BMW Individual full Merino Leather in Night Blue/Black. The Night Blue illumination covers the seats, with contrasting black upper sections.
• Headliner: The headliner is upholstered in BMW Individual Alcantara in Night Blue.
• Trim: Features BMW Individual Fineline black wood trim with aluminum inlays, leather, and a piano black finish on the center console with an 'Edition Dark Shadow' badge.
